Before leaving

• Confirm ID tag and microchip details
• Pack water, food, medication and waste bags
• Check your restraint or travel setup
• Save your veterinarian and destination emergency clinic

During the drive

• Offer regular rest and water breaks
• Never leave your dog unattended in a hot or cold vehicle
• Keep food portions and routines familiar
• Watch for stress, nausea or overheating
